Gossip in public places.......
Few things are definitely unique about India.........the food,the lifestyle,tradition etc etc etc.......not to forget the CROWD. Ohh ya, the crowd in public places.
The other day when I was travelling by bus(on my way to office),I was very much engrossed in listening to a conversation(a conversation whose participants were total strangers).My routine monotonous travelling hours turned out to be a little entertaining that day.
There was a seat just enough to accommodate a lady.This lady(around 50 yrs of age) without whom the entire conversation wouldn't have started,kept calling her elder sister to sit with people around asking her not to create a disturbance in the crowded bus.It was out of so called AFFECTION(affection of the people not of this generation).A debate almost started on how family members of this generation interact and show affection.Three rows of the ladies section and few ladies who were standing participated in the debate.
CONCLUSIONS OF THIS DEBATE:-
1) People of the previous generation were very affectionate and caring(I mean only daughters to parents,parents to children,sister to sister and sister to brother relationships,not brother to sister relationship).
2)People of this generation are least concerned about parents or siblings,even if found concerned,it is applicable to ladies.(Guys are stone hearted-A blackmark due to the guys who are so).
3)Joint family helps in improving the bond among members of the family.
4) When a guy gets married,he surrenders himself to his wife leaving behind the parents.
I do agree with a few points.Quite pragmatic..............but cannot accept it as a universal truth though it happens in most of the families.
May be time and the situation doesn't permit us to live the way our ancestors did.
Whatever it is,I was entertained listening to the way each one perceives things.
And not to forget my first sentence,I said there is something unique about India as the concept of AFFECTION is rarely found in other countries(No gossip in public places as the one I witnessed).The mechanical life they lead ruins it all.

gossip in public places should be banned - stuff like this from that "generation" really gets me worked up!
This is interesting. Though I disagree with the points. I don't think Affection is such a weak quantity to change within a span of one generation.
It's just the general belief that one's own generation was the best and the next generation will bring doom.
Leaving the topics of public gossiping aside, sometimes when we get bored in buses or trains this is the best entertainment and time pass. Strangers... talking all kind of strange things....
